Be Broadband, the O2-owned broadband provider, has announced that it has unbundled its 500th exchange, increasing its coverage to 33% of UK households.
This puts the provider well on track to hit its self-set target of 700 unbundled exchanges by June 2007 and according to Matthew Key, Chief Executive Officer of O2 UK, shows the extent of the company's innovation and its desire to put consumers first.
"We don't think of broadband as just something to throw in for free. Proper broadband takes continual innovation and focus," he said.
The good news comes hot on the heels of Be Broadband winning a nomination for the Best Consumer Broadband gong at the Internet Service Providers' Association awards.
As well as working on improving technology and internet speeds, Be Broadband has announced that it plans to unbundled over 800 exchanges by the end of this summer, enabling it to provide its service to over half of the UK.
