Boltblue ends broadband service

17 April 2007

Communications company Boltblue has formally announced its decision to retire from the broadband market.

Primarily known for its high-quality mobile phone content, including ring tones, video clips, WAP and entertainment services for UK mobiles, Boltblue introduced a broadband service to its list of services in 2005.

However, due to the company expanding "significantly" in the mobile arena over the last 18 months, Boltblue has decided to forgo its broadband services in favour of focussing on improving its mobile content.

Chief Executive Officer of Boltblue, Michael Brown, said: "With broadband representing a single digit percentage of revenue, the decision to discontinue our broadband services means we can genuinely concentrate our efforts on developing mobile products and services matched to customer preference."

Boltblue confirmed that it had been encouraging its customers to migrate to other providers for the past six months and that with just 1,000 of them left, it would be issuing migration access codes to make it easier for the remaining customers to move on.
