Consumers waiting for 02's entry into the increasingly competitive broadband market will have to wait until September at the earliest, after the mobile phone operator encountered further problems.
Originally due at the start of the year, Chief Executive of O2 Peter Erskine revealed today that the proposed September 2007 launch date may also be moved back if the company feels that the product is still not ready.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Mr Erskine said: "The one thing I will not do is launch something that isn't ready. We have learned from the mistakes of some of our rivals."
There is also a chance that when the Be Broadband service is up and running, the network coverage will only span across a third of the country, meaning that a more localised advertising campaign may be chosen over a nationwide one.
