Beleaguered cable broadband provider Virgin Media appears to have recovered from recent crises with its posting of strong quarterly results.
Despite a feud with rival broadcaster BSkyB, the broadband provider has enjoyed a growth in cable subscribers of 115,800 over the third quarter.
Total subscriber numbers now stand at 3,590,000 - around 500,000 behind the UK's top ISP, BT.
Virgin's dispute with Sky escalated earlier this year when the Rupert Murdoch-owned firm withdrew some of its TV channels from the Virgin cable service.
The Advertising Standards Authority subsequently found that one of Virgin's Sky-bashing advertisements misled the public, a hugely embarrassing ruling for the firm.
Virgin Media also suffered from disappointing broadband results in the second quarter - with 70,000 customer losses recorded.
Acting Chief Executive Neil Berkett hailed the results as a "significant turnaround" for the group.
"We can focus on continuing to improve the fundamentals, enhancing our products, reducing our churn, and delivering on our competitive strengths," he added.
Last month, Sky Broadband, which launched last year, cemented its place as the UK's fastest-growing ISP by confirming that it now had one million subscribers.
