Orange makes WiFi deal

22 November 2007

Following deals with the BBC and McDonalds, WiFi firm The Cloud has expanded its portfolio still further in a new link-up with French telecoms firm Orange.

Under the terms of the deal, Orange business customers will be able to gain access to The Cloud's network of wireless internet hotspots.

Users of the Orange service will therefore have a choice of around 10,000 areas around the UK from which they can access the internet through WiFi.

Director of Products at Orange Business Services Anthony Keyworth said: "Our business customers want easy-to-use, secure communication. They are less worried about who owns the
infrastructure and naturally more interested in a service that works effectively.

"Partnering with The Cloud enables us to extend our high quality service to thousands more locations in an instant."

Owen Geddes, Director of Business Development at The Cloud, added: "Orange's commitment to WiFi demonstrates the importance of this technology to business customers who need fast, convenient access wherever they are."

The Cloud runs around 7,500 WiFi hotspots in the UK.

Orange customers can now access them through signing up to the newly announced Business Everywhere service.
