Customers left without broadband due to their provider's network maintenance work have had their services restored.
Virgin Media broadband users across the country suffered from serious disruptions on Monday evening due to a software blunder.
Speaking to zdnet, a Virgin Media spokesperson said that an automatic update to subscribers' computers failed to work properly, causing network conflicts which in turn disrupted customer connections.
Some of the firm's set-top digital TV boxes were also disrupted by the maintenance failure.
However, the problems have since been fixed and broadband services are back to normal - and the provider has issued a statement apologising to customers.
Virgin Media, formerly known as NTL Telewest, is the UK's second biggest broadband provider in terms of customer numbers
It retains over 3.5 million subscribers, 500,000 behind industry leaders BT.
