Consumers 'still unhappy with broadband'

Despite the introduction of improved broadband services and cheaper prices, British consumers are still unhappy with internet providers, uSwitch has claimed.

While services have been enhanced in recent times, four million people are unsatisfied with the company they are getting their broadband from, the firm said on its Customer Satisfaction Report.

And seven out of nine organisations studied saw technical support satisfaction drop below 50%, with eight million consumers suggesting that this could be improved.

PlusNet topped the poll, as 86% of its clients were satisfied with the services offered to them, while 35% of customers at Orange showed unhappiness at its broadband solutions.

Communications Expert at uSwitch Steve Weller urged consumers to look at all the options before making a decision about their provider.

He commented: "Our advice for customers is to decide what they want from their service, be it price, value or support, and do some research before entering into a new contract."

This week, Narrowstep's President and Chief Operations Officer Barak Bar-Cohen claimed that improved broadband capability has made internet TV more popular.
