Brits 'want more' from broadband

10 April 2008

British consumers are constantly demanding more from their broadband services, one expert has stated this week.

Product Director at Broadband Choices Michael Philips said that people want improved services and connectivity as the advertised speed is sometimes unattainable.

And when they cannot get online as quickly as the service providers suggested they could, then they want even more, he noted.

Moreover, the attitude of consumers is probably driven by the need to have everything immediately, he claimed, a symptom of 21st-century living.

"As soon as we get used to the benefits of something we just want far more from it than was probably ever initially envisaged," he commented.

He added that there is a great deal of pressure in the modern world to live life to the full and this boosts the competitive nature of existence.

Recent uSwitch.com findings revealed that ten million homes had access to broadband solutions. On average they spend 50 days each year on the internet.
