The wireless firm Qualcomm has stated that it plans to boost its existing services following the purchase of new radio spectrum.
Fresh capabilities will be possible, it suggested, in a number of areas such as the broadband market after the acquisition of 1.4 GHz of the L-Band radio spectrum, reports IT Pro.
UK Managing Director at Qualcomm Europe John Caterer noted that collaborations with other companies may form the backbone of these possible avenues.
"This will ultimately benefit consumers, offering them high-quality services and a range of creative applications," he commented.
Mr Caterer added that there will be many emerging opportunities in this arena.
His views were given support by the Executive Vice President of Qualcomm and President of Qualcomm Internet Services, Andrew Gilbert, who remarked that enhanced capacity and peer-to-peer networking will also be considered.
Qualcomm says that it develops technologies in the wireless market in order to improve the industry.
