New orange boss 'plans broadband revival'

Jobs could be about to go as the new Chief Executive of Orange looks to improve the performance of the broadband and mobile operator.

A fresh advertising drive will also be created by Tom Alexander and he warned staff that the agenda has been amended, reports the Guardian.

Furthermore, the firm will attempt to enhance its presence in the broadband arena, the publication says, a sector in which it has been losing ground to competitors in recent times.

Mr Alexander claimed that Orange should be at the forefront of the broadband and mobile industry and this is what he will strive to achieve.

"There's a lot of change planned in order to put us back where we belong - at the top of our game," he said in a circulated email.

In recent times, major players in the broadband market have revealed that they will be boosting investments into this arena.

Orange was formed in 1994 and is presently owned by France Telecom.
