Book 'aims to help broadband users'

18 June 2008

A new booklet has been released in a bid to help consumers understand their broadband services with greater ease.

Epitiro has created the Getting Good Broadband: An Insider's Guide after Ofcom asked for a greater code of practice in the industry.

Various types of broadband are looked at, including the way in which management of traffic by service providers can actually have a negative impact on speeds.

Chief Executive at the organisation Gavin Johns noted that the terminology of broadband can be untangled via the pamphlet.

"This guide explains how speed - both upload and download - will affect consumer experience. But it also reveals much, much more," he commented.

People want to be told the simple things, he added, such as how long will it take to download entertainment off the internet.

In related news, LCC International claimed this week that Vodafone provides the best mobile broadband capabilities, after a survey.

However you use the internet, uSwitch.com can find a broadband package that suits you. Whether it's bundled with digital TV and your home phone line or just internet access, our free and impartial service can find a deal to suit. Get yourself a great deal on broadband today.
