Mobile phone operator O2 has launched a new bundled deal which will see it provide free fixed line broadband alongside its mobile broadband offering. Customers signing up to the mobile broadband package for £20 per month will receive fixed line broadband free of charge for one year. The O2 Home Broadband Takeaway deal will come with a one-off charge of £30 for the kit, but once this is paid customers will simply pay one £20 bill a month for both services. Mobile broadband speeds will reach up to 3.6 megabits per second (mbps), while fixed line broadband users will enjoy speeds of up to 8mbps. Sally Cowdry, Marketing Director of O2 UK, said: "Whether our customers are watching a video or playing a game online at home, or browsing the internet on their laptop while on the move, our combined broadband package is the perfect combination to help them stay connected wherever they are." Earlier this month, O2 said it had seen "unprecedented" demand for the Apple iPhone. It is the only network that currently carries the device.
