Virgin Media is hoping to feature Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt in its new advertisement for superfast broadband services. The Jamaican sprinter has taken the title of world's fastest man after winning the men's 100 metre and 200 metre finals at the Beijing Olympics, setting new world records. Virgin is set to launch a 50 megabit per second broadband service which it claims will be twice as fast as those being offered by its rivals. According to the Guardian, it is considering calling the product Boltband and has approached Usain Bolt to feature in its advertising campaign. "Our new 50Mb service will deliver even faster lightning broadband speeds, which is why we feel that Usain will be the perfect ambassador for our campaign," Ashley Stockwell, Head of Virgin Media's marketing operation, told the newspaper. Last month, BT announced plans to roll out superfast broadband with speeds of up to 100Mb to ten million homes by 2010.
