Vodafone has become the latest mobile network to offer a free laptop to customers signing up to its mobile broadband deal. Customers will be offered the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 without any upfront cost, provided they sign a 24-month contract for mobile broadband services. The laptop features a built in mobile broadband modem, meaning users do not need an external USB dongle to connect to the web. Pricing details for the new deal have not yet been released, but reports suggest it will be available to broadband customers from mid October. The move comes after Orange launched a mobile broadband offer including a free Asus Eee PC 900 laptop, also on a 24-month contract. Costing £25 a month, the package comes with three gigabytes of usage, 100 bundled text messages and connection speeds of up to 1.8 megabits per second. Meanwhile, T-Mobile has introduced three pay-as-you go mobile broadband packages starting at £2 per day.
