Be Broadband is to carry out a month long trial to provide customers within the Paddington exchange area with internet speeds of up to 40 megabits per second. The broadband provider said it is inviting a number of customers to take part in the trial and to enjoy the faster service for 30 days. Participants will be provided with two telephone lines which will be linked via one ADSL router and will receive broadband free during the trial period. The phone lines will remain free for a year after the trial and those taking part will also benefit from an extra month's subscription at no additional cost. Meanwhile, Ofcom has published proposals on the delivery of high speed broadband, which are expected to remove investment barriers and ensure market competition. Chief Executive Ed Richards said: "Ofcom's plan of action will encourage further investment while promoting and sustaining competition so we can all benefit."
