Be Broadband's new broadband optimisation service is unlikely to appeal to casual internet users, it has been suggested. According to Thomas Newton from UK-Web Media, faster connections speeds will be attractive to consumers who like to watch a lot of streaming video content online. Gamers too will be willing to alter their broadband settings in order to achieve the best possible performance. However, he added: "Casual users who just want the internet for checking emails, Facebook and the occasional YouTube video will probably not want to tweak or fiddle with their connection." Be Broadband is offering users the chance to customise their internet connection settings to cater for their individual needs. They can choose from a standard setting for everyday broadband use, a speed setting, a reliability setting and a gaming mode. Be Broadband was voted best broadband only deal recently in the PC Advisor reader awards 2008, beating off competition from Plusnet and Zen.
