Broadband users 'logging on while on the loo'

Thanks to the growth of wireless broadband, the toilet has become a popular place for internet users to surf the web, it has been found. According to a survey by the internet service provider PlusNet, one in ten broadband customers have logged onto their laptops while on the loo. The living room remains the most common place for accessing the net, although 35% have also gone online while lying in bed. Neil Armstrong, products director at PlusNet, said: "Some people are now such fans of emailing and the internet they want to stay in touch with the worldwide web whenever and wherever they are," Web User reports. Another recent survey by PlusNet revealed that despite the wallet-squeezing effect of the credit crunch, 92% of consumers plan to keep their broadband connections. In fact, many are using the web to help them save money by, for example, shopping online instead of visiting the high street and paying utility bills online to take advantage of special discounts.
