Internet users are being offered the chance to try out super-fast broadband with TalkTalk through an add-on speed booster service.
The internet service provider will supply the boost to customers on its myTalkTalk broadband package for an extra £4 a month.
It will deliver speeds of up to 24 megabits per second, allowing users to enjoy a variety of bandwidth-hungry services such as streaming video and high quality gaming.
They will also be able to double their monthly download limit from 40 gigabytes to 80 gigabytes as part of their bespoke package.
Wendy Becker, managing director of TalkTalk, said: "People's communication needs are constantly changing and we need to provide a phone and broadband service that reflects this."
The company said customers who opt for the speed boost but claim to see no difference in the pace of their service will be offered a refund.
MP Nick Palmer, a member of the Parliamentary Information Technology Committee, has suggested that super-fast broadband will have to become integral to business before it will take off fully in the UK.
