Secure car parks suffer spate of break-ins

<div class="rxbodyfield" xmlns:o="urn:www.microsoft.com/office" xmlns:st1="urn:www.microsoft.com/smarttags" xmlns:st2="urn:www.microsoft.com/smarttags2" xmlns:w="urn:www.microsoft.com/word" xmlns:x="urn:www.microsoft.com/excel"><p>Manchester residents have been left fuming after opportunist thieves broke into their vehicles which had been left in a supposedly &quot;secure&quot; car park, according to the Manchester Evening News.</p><p>Residents had paid &#163;20,000 for the basement parking area, yet despite hefty price tag, little appears to have been done to improve the safety of their vehicles.</p><p>Multiple drivers have suffered smashed windows during the last six months, with three of those happening in four days over the Christmas period.</p><p>Now residents are campaigning for a CCTV system to be installed to deter would-be thieves and to help catch the ones who do attempt to break into their vehicles.</p><p>Scott Davies, 33, a building engineer, told the newspaper: &quot;The cars are never stolen, but the windows are smashed and the boot and glove boxes rifled through. It has got to the point where people are having to completely empty their cars and leave glove boxes open so that thieves know there is nothing in there. </p><p>&quot;We have asked for CCTV and improved security to stop thieves following cars in.
