Which? highlights car safety concerns

<div class="rxbodyfield" xmlns:o="urn:www.microsoft.com/office" xmlns:st1="urn:www.microsoft.com/smarttags" xmlns:st2="urn:www.microsoft.com/smarttags2" xmlns:w="urn:www.microsoft.com/word" xmlns:x="urn:www.microsoft.com/excel"><p>Despite car manufacturers claiming to build the safest motors yet, consumer watchdog Which? has discovered that many of the latest models still suffer from basic safety faults.</p><p>Chiefly, safety belts have caused the most anxiety, with issues like seatbelt buckles which could release accidentally in an impact raising safety questions, particularly for the Volvo S80, which the watchdog cites as having a poor seatbelt design.</p><p>Neil Fowler, editor of Which?, said: &quot;Modern cars measure up well against their ancestors, but there&#39;s no room for complacency where safety&#39;s concerned. </p><p>&quot;We&#39;re still finding basic safety problems with many new models and we&#39;ll continue to lobby car manufacturers for improvement.&quot;</p><p>Chrysler, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Subaru have all been criticised for their suspect seatbelts but as of yet, only Volvo has pledged to investigate Which?&#39;s claims.
