Checking a car's history, reporting bad drivers and dynamic parking are just some of the requests from drivers who want more motoring services to be offered over the internet, according to a new survey from Directgov.
One in ten drivers said they would like to be able to put their car through a virtual MOT, with an additional 10% requesting the possibility of renewing their driving license online.
Britain's eco-conscious drivers also requested the ability to be able to calculate the carbon emissions of their care and one in 50 drivers would like a site to report abandoned vehicles on.
Reporting the bad driving behaviour of motorists was also a popular option, with Britain's younger drivers appearing to be most in favour of reporting reckless drivers with 15% of them making it their top priority.
Interestingly, a number of drivers said that they would like to be able to renew their car tax online, despite the fact that this service already exists and was cited as being the most useful by 29% of the 1,000 respondents.
Another popular motoring service which is already available online was route planning, favoured by 38% of those asked.
A spokesperson for Directgov, commented: "This project helps us understand what information people want and scope out the future of online services.
"For services which would save them time and hassleit seems that renewing car tax, or virtually putting a car through an MOT and those which make them a more responsible driver - such as checking their carbon emissions or reporting bad drivers and abandoned vehicles - would be the most popular."
