Some of the more eccentric and offbeat reasons behind making a car insurance claim have been revealed by provider the AA.
The car insurance provider revealed the crazy claims - with all drivers' names withheld, of course - following a review of the 180,000 received by the firm over the course of 2007.
Mrs R, for example, claimed on her cover after she crashed her motor through a countryside hedge - and came face to face with an irate bull.
Damage sustained through rain is a common cause of car insurance claims - although there was nothing ordinary about Mr A's case.
He called the AA after suffering a downpour of a different kind - a shower of apples from a passing forklift truck.
Mrs P also suffered dented bodywork - although hers was from shopping trollies falling from a delivery lorry.
Last week, the AA revealed in its latest Car Insurance Index that average annual premiums continue to increase in the UK.
The average comprehensive car insurance plan cost 2.4 per cent more over the past quarter's figure, the Index found.
