Locals have called for the introduction of speed cameras at one location in Southport after a car accident there.
The incident occurred at Scarisbrick New Road near King George V College, during which a Citroen Xsara hit other stationary vehicles, reports the Southport Visiter.
It is just the latest crash at the scene, which has prompted residents to ask for greater safety measures.
One of them, Mike Burrows, argued that the safety of school pupils could be improved if the speed devices were installed.
"They should have speed cameras down here as some cars go down the road like rockets. There are a lot of college lads and girls around and accidents do happen," he told the paper.
Nobody was hurt badly enough to need any medical assistance, the authorities stated.
A speed camera in Muswell Hill in London has finally been made live after a number of delays, according to the Muswell Hill Journal, something that could impact upon drivers' car insurance.
