Safety campaigners in Bradford have emerged victorious following an initiative to try and install new speed measures.
As a result of the campaign, mobile cameras will be used in Drighlington in the near future, after a number of speeding incidents, reports the Morley Advertiser.
One of the campaigners, Jill Newsome, stated that she was very pleased with the move, especially since tests earlier in the year proved the road was unsafe.
"We're really pleased with the news. We're not out to get people who speed, it's about making this road safer and getting people to think about how they drive," she told the publication.
The tests claimed that some drivers were travelling at twice the legal limit on Whitehall Road in the area, something that could damage their car insurance premiums.
In related news, Cambridgeshire county council this week stated that new speed cameras may still be installed if they are given authorisation from the government.
