A new road safety initiative has been instigated in Scotland to try and teach youngsters about the dangers of the roads there, something that could impact on their car insurance.
Many children attended the event - the Junior Road Safety Officer conference in Inverness - to be told about vital aspects of awareness, reports the Inverness Courier.
Such an opportunity is crucial for the youths involved, noted Northern Safety Camera Partnership Manager Inspector Jim Smith, because they can also have a bearing on what older people believe in.
"We also want parents to be aware that their attitude to driving influences how their children will behave behind the wheel when the time comes for them to learn to drive," he told the publication.
He added that a legion of educated youngsters could well form a backbone for improved roads in the future.
This week uSwitch.com argued that motorists may be paying too much for car insurance purchased from manufacturers.
