Drivers in Lancashire have claimed that a speed camera has been disguised behind a wall to try and catch them out, something that could hit their car insurance.
Locals said that the vehicle containing the device regularly appears on Walton-le-Dale's Chorley Road, reports the Lancashire Evening Post.
One of the nearby residents told the driver of the van that the method was "sneaky" but was told that there was no alternative.
"His reaction was to say that there was nowhere else to park close by safely, but I told him that was a load of rubbish," the unnamed source noted to the paper.
The cameras are operated by the Lancashire Partnership for Road Safety but that organisation refused to comment.
Instead a spokesman at the police stated that the vehicle is "bright yellow" and therefore "visible".
In Scotland, bosses at the Rock Ness music festival recently warned drivers to stay within the legal speed limit after many were captured in 2007.
