Police officers have been informing youngsters in Illkeston, Derbyshire, about the dangers the face on the roads there, something that might interest those with car insurance. Those at Granby Junior School got help from Jumicar, which supplied small vehicles for children to sit in, reports the Illkeston Advertiser. Director of Jumicar UK Janet Ashworth claimed that the drive will be beneficial to youngsters for a number of reasons. She told the publication: "During the session they'll gain road awareness skills, learn the importance of obeying safety rules and become aware of the various hazards presented by being in a vehicle or on the roadside." Cotmanhay's Safer Neighbourhood Team's PC Martin Booth added that this is a massive move and that it is crucial more is known about the roads. He also remarked that kids will be spending more time outside during the summer months. Virgin Money Car Insurance recently stated that Telford in Shropshire is the most car-friendly town in the UK.
