Presentation for young Scottish drivers

8 July 2008

A special presentation is set to be offered to drivers in one area of Scotland later this month so that they know more about road safety, something that may have a positive impact on their future car insurance premiums. Grampian Police will attempt to target younger people at a karting club based in Boyndie, with advice to be given out to those present, reports the Press and Journal. Demonstrations will look at how observation techniques can improve the overall quality of driving, while practical lessons are to consider braking. Constable Julie Bremner from the road safety unit at Grampian police said that this is a good way in which to highlight major issues that should be addressed. "We would not be currently able to offer these training days if we did not have the support from the local community and businesses," she told the paper. Over 200 motorists were recently caught speeding in the north-east of Scotland as part of a safety drive, a trend the North East Safety Camera Partnership asserted was worrying.
