More male drivers believe they are safe to drive after drinking alcohol than female motorists, according to a new survey.
Women's car insurance provider Diamond found that one in ten men would consider getting behind the wheel after consuming between three and four units of alcohol.
This compares to just one in 100 women who would think about hopping into their car after drinking the same amount.
Furthermore, while two-third of women would only consider themselves safe to drive after drinking nothing at all, almost half of men would still drive after drinking one or two units.
Diamond Managing Director Sian Lewis said: "These results show the effects drinking can have on your driving don't seem to have hit home with many men."
A separate survey by swiftcover.com revealed that 64% of British motorists consider themselves to be better drivers than their counterparts in the rest of Europe.
Motorists should compare car insurance premiums online to make sure they are getting the best deal.
