Road rage is "alive and well" in the UK, according to car insurance company swiftcover.com, which found that 88% of drivers have experienced it.
Its research also shows that almost a quarter of motorists admit to losing their temper every time they take to the roads.
Drivers who fail to indicate were named as the biggest irritant, followed by motorists who stay in the middle lane on the motorway.
The most annoying road users, according to those questioned, are lorry drivers, while buses and white van men also make the shortlist.
Tina Shortle, Marketing Director at swiftcover.com, said: "It was clear that certain driving habits were far more likely to make people irate than others, so I hope drivers take note to make their driving as safe and considerate to other road users as possible this Christmas."
As well as slowing down journeys, giving in to road rage could lead to more expensive car insurance premiums if accidents occur as a result of erratic driving.
According to the BBC, an 80-year-old man from Wales received a motoring ban recently for driving into a woman following an argument over a parking space.
