A list of some of the funniest and most embarrassing car insurance claims made by UK motorists has been published by AA Insurance.
Included in the list are a man who was driving under a bypass when a sheep landed on the bonnet of his car and a woman who ran into the back of the car in front while looking out of the window for a second magpie after spotting a first.
One man was hit by a flying Christmas tree which was not properly attached to the roof of another car, while two women ended up jammed into the same parking space after trying to drive in at the same time.
Simon Douglas, director of AA Insurance, said: "It doesn't matter how bizarre the incident, you may be sure we've heard it all before and will still give a professional and helpful service."
He said that stories such as these - while funny for those hearing about them and perhaps embarrassing for those involved - highlight the importance of having comprehensive car insurance cover in place.
Meanwhile, motor insurer RAC is urging drivers to consider taking out breakdown cover as well as car insurance to make sure they do not end up stuck at the roadside over the festive season, the Guardian reports.
