Mobile phone customers offered pay as you go SatNav
Vehicles services group Trafficmaster believes that the application will benefit users that only need such a service "once in a while", perhaps for occasional long journeys or driving holidays.
Drivers and mobile phone users will be able to download five routes for only £1.79, followed up by purchasing ten, 20 or 30 top-up routes thereafter.
The application will also include minute by minute traffic information, while Smartnave users will be able to contact a real personal assistant to help find destinations or provide emergency support.
Earlier this week, safety group TyreSafe urged motorcyclists to check their tyres before setting out on their first ride of the year this April.
Next month is a critical time in the motorcyclists calendar, with weather conditions seeing many venturing out on the roads for the first time in the new year.
The group is keen to raise awareness of correct tyre care and maintenance during what it describes as a "critical time".
