Virgin Media to launch 100Mb broadband
Music lovers will be able to download an album in around five seconds, an hour-long TV show in around 31 seconds and a HD movie in just over seven minutes, it added.
Matthew Wheeler, Communications Expert, uSwitch.com, commented: "Our own research has found that a quarter (25%) of broadband users have speeds of 2Mb or less and 45% are not happy with their broadband speed."
He noted that speed is often key to customer satisfaction, which a number of providers are now starting to realise by enhancing their products.
As a result of Virgin Media's announcement, Mr Wheeler proposed that other broadband providers may follow suit.
