An innovative pay as you go credit card system is being widely praised after an extensive trial period and could now be set for imminent nationwide exposure.
South London-based Credit Card Solutions first issued the new styled 'top up' Visa and MasterCard credit cards last year on a strictly limited basis and still only 1,000 are in circulation throughout the UK.
The system allows users to top up their credit when needed, as well as making usual high street purchases, order items online and withdraw cash from ATMs across the world.
The cards, fist launched in Croydon, can be topped up at most banks and it is hoped if successful cardholders would in the future be able to top up their cards at shop checkouts.
Mark McDonald, co-owner of Credit Card Solutions, said: "This new credit card has been in circulation in the US for a little while now and we expect it to grow rapidly in the UK.
"The response we have received from the people of Croydon has been terrific, it really does bode well for the future. This is such an exciting product, there is great potential for the rapid growth of this product."
