Popular holiday camps throughout Britain are today replacing free on site cash machines with fee-charging ATMs.
The news comes as a blow to the legions of holidaymakers who are planning on making economical trips to various venues in the near future including the likes of Butlins, Haven and Pontin's.
Holiday camps have in the past been praised for having such a slender quantity of fee charging cash machines among them but now at least 45 site operators will be installing the expensive ATMs immediately after the leases expire on their current machines.
Camp owners have unsurprisingly welcomed the machines that will bring in substantial extra sums.
Butlins in Bognor Regis is a prime example of this. After removing a free Nationwide ATM two years ago, four machines all charging £1.25 for withdrawals have since been installed there.
