Post Office issues credit card alternative

7 June 2006

The Post Office has launched a new pre-pay card that could save consumers from having to use their credit cards abroad.

Its pre-paid currency card can be used at over one million ATMs and millions of retail outlets around the world.

A unique PIN number is provided with the card, giving added security.

The card can be reloaded from anywhere in the world and carries a purchase price of £10.

Kevin McAdam, head of travel and leisure at the Post Office, said: "The Post Office is already the nation's number one when it comes to holiday money and we can now offer customers even more choice on how they spend abroad.

"Our Travel Money Card is extremely secure with its own PIN and has a built in safety net, so you can't spend more than the balance on the card, offering customers not only convenience, but peace of mind when it comes to holiday spending."
