Credit card users in London are savvier to credit card reward offers than elsewhere in the UK, according to a new study by Goldfish credit card.
Between November and January, more than one in three people in the capital reaped an average of £349 worth of rewards, whether it was shopping vouchers, travel offers or cash back.
Contrastingly, credit card users in the north redeemed just £49 worth of rewards, with the UK as a whole averaging £135.
Patrick Muir, Goldfish credit card Marketing Director, commented: "Savvy spenders should consider cards that offer them a tangible benefit or reward for their spending.
"Credit card reward schemes are a great way for cardholders to be rewarded for everyday spending, but there is no point in having one if customers do not redeem their points."
The survey also discovered an age divide for reward schemes, with 83% of those over 50 likely to have a reward credit card, compared to 68% of those under 30.
