New card for footy fans

20 July 2007

Football fans will be able to show more support to their favourite club in future, thanks to a new credit card from Barclaycard.

Barclaycard Football is a new credit card giving customers deals on season ticket purchases and balance transfers as well as reward for using their card in certain UK retailers.

The card allows 0% on balance transfers for 12 months, with a 2.5% fee, as well as 0% on season ticket purchases, with a minimum spend of 250.

Supporters can also claim rewards on spending at various UK retailers including JJB Sports when buying their new kit, at Superdrug and WHSmith when stocking up on match day treats, and at electrical store Currys.

Points accumulated can be redeemed against teamshirts, sports kit, discount vouchers and other football merchandise.

"By focusing on the things that really matter to football fans, we have made football more accessible by offering a 0% season ticket offer, football rewards and the opportunity to win 'once in a lifetime' football experiences," Amer Sajed, Managing Director of UK Cards said.

Supporters who sign up to the card will also have the chance to win a walk on part in the forthcoming football film, Goal 3, as well as an all expenses paid trip to the Dubai Masters football tournament.
