Cashless payment will hit shops in London this autumn, allowing customers to pay for items with just one swipe of their credit card.
Over 1,000 shops, restaurants and cafes have signed up to Barclaycard's touch-and-pay One Pulse card including EAT, Krispy Kreme, Coffee Republic, Threshers, YO! Sushi and Books Etc.
The new card is designed to make paying for purchases under £10 easier, with no PIN or signature required.
Customers simply hold the card up to a special reader which deducts the money for the purchase automatically.
OnePulse can also be used as an Oyster card, paying for travel on London's tube and bus network, as well as for larger payments in the same way as a standard chip and PIN credit card.
"We are excited about installing cashless readers in 25 of our London stores," Guy Harvey, Financial Director at sandwich chain EAT said.
"It will help us to eliminate some of the frustrations for our customers, such as queues in the busy lunchtime rush."
Elizabeth Chambers, Chief Marketing Officer, Barclaycard said: "Cashless payments are starting to become a reality. They're fast, secure, and a fantastic way to streamline your day - no more waiting in queues to pay for small ticket items. And the OnePulse card works just like a regular credit card for larger purchases, too."
The scheme will roll out in September, with more cities expected to take part in trial runs of the scheme in the near future.
