Fresh chip and pin capabilities are to be offered to motorists at a petrol station in Heckmondwike, Yorkshire.
Now drivers will be able to pay for their fuel directly at the pump with their credit cards using the technology, reports the Spenborough Guardian.
Morrisons, the supermarket, is offering the service, something that led a spokesman to claim that it is good news for people with children who do not wish to leave them alone.
And General Manager of Morrisons in the town Stuart Ellis noted that there are still more traditional methods open to consumers.
"If you want to pay with cash or have a chip and pin card but still want to go in the shop - to buy a paper or a snack - you can still pay at the kiosk," he told the news provider.
Last week, BT announced that it had adopted its own Payment Card Industry service to try and improve card security.
