ATM machines 'do not charge'

26 June 2008

New ATM machines have been put in place by the Post Office in the UK, which are free of charge for multiple currencies. Post Office branches in places such as Birmingham, Bristol, Crawley, Ashford, Stockport and Trafalgar Square have now got the devices thanks to the Bank of Ireland, reports Computer Active. Currencies available on the machines are sterling, US dollars and euros, which will be great news for those going on holiday, the Post Office noted. Head of Travel Services Helen Warburton said that the development is beneficial to many people in terms of money saving. She told the news source: "Holidaymakers can make real savings by avoiding all the charges and commission associated with using overseas cash machines abroad." Most of the current ATM's are located in the south in England. In related news, Abbey recently brought out a credit card called Zero, which enables people to withdraw money without a fee overseas.
