Consumers have been urged to remain on guard following the discovery of a skimming device that was found at a Cardiff train station cashpoint. The equipment was located by an individual who has knowledge of ATMs and then the police were informed, reports the Daily Post. Officials warned people using Cardiff Central station to check their bank accounts have not been tampered with in any way and to ensure all information is correct, advice that may interest those with credit cards. British Transport Police's (BTP's) Detective Sergeant Dave Goddard explained the situation in the Welsh capital. "The device was found last Friday (July 11th) and could have been there for up to up to seven days, or less. BTP is reviewing CCTV from the station and working to trace any witnesses," he commented. He added that anyone who may have been acting strangely close to the cashpoint should be reported to the force as quickly as possible. Last week it was revealed that Pendle MP Gordon Prentice was a victim of credit card fraud, losing £3,500.
