Saga's new Platinum card offers enhanced features, the company claims, giving customers 11.9% APR.
On offer to both new and existing customers, the product is said to have a 0% introductory rate on balance transfers and purchases, which is extended to nine months for those new to the card.
Andrew Goodsell, Chief Executive of Saga Group, says it is more important than ever to manage finances effectively, adding that: "We are playing our part as, unlike many other providers, we are significantly reducing the interest rate on our credit card."
He adds that the product will help people make their money go further, with the Saga Platinum card providing greater financial flexibility for customers managing their finances.
In addition to this, the card provides no currency charges for transactions made within Visa Europe.
Those looking for a new credit card can compare products online to see which is best for their needs and which cards offer free transactions abroad.
Earlier this week, uSwitch.com revealed many Britons are charged excessive amounts when using their credit and debit cards on holiday.
