Abbey relaunches Zero credit card

11 May 2009

Abbey Zero is being relaunched today (May 11th), giving customers no cash advance and foreign exchange fees.

It is said to be ideal for borrowers who may want to withdraw cash in case of an emergency and is being launched just in time for the holiday season.

"Its fee-free credentials apply on an ongoing basis too, as part of our commitment to offer our customers ongoing value and innovative and cost-effective spending options," comments Roger Lovering, Managing Director of Abbey Credit Cards.

Other features include a 0% rate on purchases for three months and 0% on balance transfers for a 12-month period.

According to figures published by the British Bankers Association, credit card lending rose by £300 million and the annual growth rate rose to 8.5 per cent.

Louise Bond, personal finance manager at uSwitch.com, comments: "It is great to see Abbey coming into this area of the credit card market. This card is great for using abroad with no transaction fees on purchases and withdrawing cash from an ATM. With the pound suffering, it is a great way to make the most of your money abroad without incurring any extra fees."
