Abbey has launched two new current accounts offering a range of lifestyle benefits designed to suit the needs of different customers. Both accounts will be available at a cost of £15 a month and the benefits offered on each will be worth over £850. The Travel Reward account includes worldwide multi-trip travel insurance and annual airport lounge access as well as a number of holiday discounts and hotel offers. Meanwhile, the Family Reward account also comes with holiday and hotel discounts but includes insurance for mobile phones and other gadgets. Steve Shore, Director of Abbey Banking, said: "Our accounts have been designed so that the benefits are relevant to the needs and lifestyles of our customers and they can maximise the value they get from their account." Abbey is the latest bank to launch so-called added value current accounts. Last month, the Co-operative Bank offered a new current account deal that allowed customers to choose from a range of benefits packages. These included a gadget package for customers looking to insurance their mp3 players, laptops and mobile phones and a traveller package, which comes with a number of travel-related offers.
