As many as 12 million Britons are in a state of denial when it comes to the state of their personal finances, a new survey has revealed.
The Reader's Digest discovered a number of different money personalities among Britons, with many failing to realise how much financial difficulty they are in until they experience a problem.
"Once you have worked out your own money personality, it may be time to embark on a little financial self-improvement," advised Harvey Jones, an Independent Financial Expert.
Fighting against instincts can help people regain control of their savings, Mr Jones added, which may be of interest to the 25% of people deemed financial evaders by the survey.
Britons have saved an average of £86.35 each month over the last year, according to latest statistics from NS&I.
