The chief of BT's entertainment department has drawn attention to the influence broadband is increasingly having on digital TV content.
Speaking at the IPTV World Forum, Andrew Burke insisted that the provision of high-definition (HD) content made possible by airing TV over broadband will soon induce wholesale TV changes.
The BBC is at the forefront of the technological 'revolution', as analysts are hailing it, and has recently completed its initial iMP technical trials.
Larger consumer trails are set for later this year.
TV over broadband can potentially deliver a significantly cheaper service whilst giving users more control over what and when they watch programmes.
