Glasgow set for 24-hour broadband TV channel

22 April 2005

Glasgow is set to become the first city in the UK with a 24/7 broadband television channel.

Glasgow.TV will broadcast international events from the city, carry advertising and act as an information source for overseas visitors and ex-pats.

"Glasgow.tv is the perfect way to bring our city to life and offer people around the world a chance to see it first hand." said Glasgow city councillor, Alex Mosson.

"It acts as a good advertising tool, is state-of-the-art technology and we are proud that we are the first city to do this."

Developed by the company Narrowstep, the service will offer 24 hour 7 day a week viewing with the option of scheduled programs, highlights and video on demand to anyone in the world with a broadband connection.
