Digital TV can now be received on a viewer's laptop or desktop computer with consummate ease, after a new product was unveiled today.
Hauppage Digital's WinTV HVR-900 is a tiny implement that can fit into a USB 2.0 socket and can receive both analogue and digital Freeview TV from the off.
The device is priced at £74.99 and will also ensure that live TV can be recorded to the hard disk of a computer in order to be played back later at the time of the viewer's choice.
Yehia Oweiss, vice president of European sales at Hauppage Digital, said: "You could have the HVR-900 plugged into your desktop PC at home, then simply unplug it and take it with you and your laptop wherever.
"The supplied high gain aerial gives excellent picture quality in all but weak signal areas, making it the perfect travelling companion all over Europe."
The HVR-900 is due to be in the shops by the end of this month, and is being billed as a must-have Christmas gift for the young, mobile professional.
