BT has announced that some more details about its digital TV package.
BT Vision will not be launched until the Autumn, but current BT broadband subscribers are now being invited to register their interest at the company's website, so they can ensure they will be the first to receive it.
The service will be the first to combine digital terrestrial television channels with on-demand film, TV and music features. It will also have an interactive service.
BBC Worldwide, Paramount, Warner Music Group and Endemol have all reached agreements with BT to licence content for the digital TV package.
Documentary maker National Geographic Channel and kids' programme makers Cartoon Network, HIT Entertainment and Nelvana have also agreed deals to licence their programmes for BT Vision.
This means that viewers will be able to choose from a great variety of on-demand programming, enabling them to watch what they want when they want, as well as benefiting from interactive services through their TV.
Best of all for consumers, BT says that there will be no monthly subscription.
Dan Marks, chief executive of TV services, said: "Our choice of the name BT Vision encapsulates the qualities needed to make this offering successful and underpins how important our next generation TV will be in the converged world.
"BT Vision will be offered nationwide and will be not restricted to metropolitan areas and as with Freeview there will be no mandatory subscription."
